I wanted to see if I could find an original, ephemeral artifact, showing the wheel in action during its final years...
In 1952 Celoron Park's Phoenix Wheel was dismantled and moved off to the Los Angeles County Fair Grounds in Pomona, California.
This image is from a 1953 advertising piece for the Los Angeles County Fair.
The wheel was dismantled and scrapped in 1981.
